Description

Adapters are used to interface the MaxiMatcher or MaxiPreamp with tubes that have non-standard pinouts. There are different adapters for power tubes and for preamps. They are small, highly robust components that are custom engineered for many insert/removal cycles. These adapters will last for the life of the tester.

Power Tube Adapters

Most common power tubes have the EIA-standard ‘7AC’ octal-base pinout. For non-standard tubes, we offer a range of adapters in the list at right to accommodate virtually any power pentode, tetrode or triode. Custom adapters can be made for any tube that is not in our stock set

300B and 2A3 adapters now available!

  • Test directly heated triodes on your maximatcher.
  • Test both Plate Current and Transconductance
  • The MaxiMatcher does not have isolated filament windings, therefore only one 300B or 2A3 adapter can be used

Only $149 each

SocketSaver

The Socket Saver can extend the life of the test sockets on your MaxiMatcher. This adapter is installed via simple hardware into each socket of your MaxiMatcher. The Socket Saver then takes all the wear of inserting and extracting tubes from the MaxiMatcher. If the Socket Saver becomes worn, simply replace the Socket Saver instead of wearing out your MaxiMatcher test sockets. A set of Socket Savers is strongly recommended for tube resellers or audio enthusiasts who are testing hundreds or thousands of tubes.

The Socket Saver is sold as a kit complete with hold down screws and spacers. You can easily install these on your MaxiMatcher by threading the screws provided in the kit in place of the socket mount screws in the top deck.

Preamp Tube Adapters

Preamp and signal tubes are more diverse than power tubes in general and have a wider variety of pinout patterns. Many of the standard voltage-gain amps like 12AX7, 12AU7 and 12AT7 have the EIA-standard 9A pinout. These test directly in the Maxi-Preamp with no adapters needed.

For tubes such as 6DJ8, 6922 and 6FQ7, pinout configuration is needed as well as internal components to match tube characteristics with the Maxi-Preamp capabilities. The list on the right provides an overview of the standard stock of preamp tube adapters we carry. They are listed by EIA base and include most dual triodes currently available in today’s market.
