The new upgrade for the classic test station

The Matcher II is a compact precision measurement station for the test bench or sales counter. The station tests power tubes for short circuits, heater operation and the electrical characteristics of Plate Current (Ip) and Transconductance (Gm). Any of the standard octal-base power pentodes common in today’s audio amplifiers including 6L6, EL34, 5881 and 6550 can be tested. With optional adaptors the MaxiMatcher will also test EL84 nine-pin miniature pentodes, Novar power pentodes, 2A3 and 300B power triodes, EL509 plate-cap pentodes and many others.

The MaxiMatcher II is currently shipping.

The MaxiMatcher II is used by the audiophile, service technician, or music store salesperson to quickly test a tube for operation and quality. Start by inserting a tube in the short-circuit test socket to quickly check all tube elements for shorts. Then move easily into accurate electronic measurement by following just three simple steps. The Matcher can be used to precision-select loose tubes into accurate sets for mounting in power amps, or as a point-of-sale aid in selling matched tube sets, or for QC of customer tubes at the sales counter.

The MaxiMatcher II tests up to four tubes at a time, and has a separate extra socket for short circuit testing. Easy directions for use are provided right on the inside lid and the layout is clear and intuitive, making the Matcher simple to use and easy to understand. Separate selector switches for Bias Voltage, Plate Voltage, Measurement Function, and Test Socket Select are provided, along with the proprietary SmartFuse high speed protection circuit. All test data appear on a large, bright 4-digit LED display. Digital measurements are made by a proprietary high

I purchase NOS 6550 tubes and cannot imagine making the investments without having the Maximatcher II to test and grade them all. The Maximatcher II is invaluable to ensuring the quality of my NOS tubes before they make their way into my expensive Conrad Johnson amps.

Also and critical, the post purchase customer service is responsive, polite and knowledgeable. These guys are terrific!

Great job and all the best!

This tester is very high quality and I have found it to be super reliable and very easy to use. I have other testers but the MaxiMatcher is so much easier, accurate and quicker.
